Tuesday

  • Stage 1Our stage one class is ideal for those nervous beginners. Our teachers are based in the water to help build basic water confidence and give that extra reassurance to each individual. All lessons are extremely fun and enjoyable with the aim on building basic water control and confidence. With a maximum of only five children per class each child is given a lot of personal attention in order to really progress. with Alex StewartHello I’m Alex, the owner and founder of Elites Swimming. I was a competitive swimmer to a high level, becoming Essex County champion three consecutive years in a row and then progressing on to competing at a regional and national level. I was lucky enough to be hand-picked to enter on to an advanced coaching program where I was mentored and monitored for two years by members of the England talent team. I went on to help produce many county, regional and national level swimmers. Also specialising in disability swimming, I have been able to help train up and develop swimmers that have gone on to represent the country abroad in international competitions. With the support from a good friend, Nicole Pearse, who was also a successful competitive swimmer, I realised my desire to start a swim school. To this day I cannot thank Nicole enough for all her hard work in helping us get this far. [divider marginbottom="0" margintop="10"]

My name is Rob.  I am a swimming teacher working alongside Alex.

I have been teaching now for two years.  I enjoy teaching as I am able to pass on my own experiences whilst having fun at the same time.

I am a family man with my wife and two children.  My hobbies include running, exercising, rugby, swimming and days out with my family.  I have recently completed the Brighton Marathon.

From a young age, I was able to swim and once I had gained all badges possible wanted to carry on.  It is then I found water polo, a very fast paced game.  My coach suggested I join a Basildon Swimming Club.  My time was split between the club and water polo.  The swimming at the club took me to another level improving both stroke and stamina.  I really enjoyed Gala days.  Water polo I really enjoyed for which I played for both Basildon and Essex.

  • Stage 2Stage two is for our swimmers that have now progressed on from needing support aids and can swim five metres on either their front or back. All our teachers are based in the water to aid in nervousness and still provide that extra support. with Alex StewartHello I’m Alex, the owner and founder of Elites Swimming.

  • Stage 4From our competitive backgrounds, now is where our swimmers are taught basic competitive techniques such as tumble turns and diving. We have always stuck by a strong principal that the earlier they master these techniques, the more they can adapt and progress when they’re older. Children are more confident at a younger age so introducing these techniques now helps rule out any later fear that can develop. with Rob Baldock
